| THE VISION FOR 2010
2010 is the year God is calling MBC to Bless Our World. It is a commitment we must make and keep both corporately and individually. The verse that will guide us into this year of blessing is found in Galatians 5:6:
Nothing counts except faith expressing itself in love.
So how do we go about blessing our world? How do we make 2010 count?
We will bless those who come to MBC by being a fully functioning Body of Christ. That means each of us needs to find our place and purpose for being here. If you need help with that email John Barryhill john@manchacabaptist.com and we'll help you find your place. This also means that those who are serving need to make a fresh commitment to do so with consistency and excellence.
We will bless our community through our work at Sunset Valley Elementary and the surrounding community. This is the place to which God led our Bless Team as they sought out the place in Austin God wanted our community of faith to pour itself into. Our first steps into this community will come through serving the school and providing mentors for children. Throughout the year we believe God will open more opportunities to minister to families and the community.
We will bless places around the world through our giving (both to budget and special offerings), our mission trips to Guatemala and the Rio Grande Valley, and through our youth mission trip to Arkansas.
Most importantly, we will bless the people we encounter each day as we live intentionally and deliberately, seeking to know their story and discover their needs. Ultimately we bless our world one life at a time. Christianity moves at the speed of friendship.
2010 is the year we will bless our world; it is the year that you will bless your world. God is calling us. He is challenging us. He is opening doors wide and seeing if we will have the faith and courage to step in and join Him in His work. And if we individually and corporately say yes to God's calling, we will bless our world and leave footprints of Jesus all over that show the love of God as clearly as it can be shown.
Make it count! Bless your world!
