THE VISION FOR 2008

WHO WE WILL BE
This year our goal is to get to know Jesus better than we know anyone else, so we are then positioned to answer, "Yes," to whatever God might call us to do. To be a church God uses to change the world and our world we must follow Jesus without reservation. But I won't follow Him without reservation unless I first choose to follow Him. And I won't follow Him unless I trust Him; and I won't trust Him unless I love Him; and I won't love Him unless I know Him well enough

And so our starting place this year - our personal, internal goal for 2008 - is to get to know Jesus better than we get to know anyone else. Through sermon series, devotions, small groups and other special studies, we hope to provide you many opportunities to get to know Jesus better.

WHAT WE WILL DO
Here is a quick summary of God's To-Do list for MBC in 2008:
(1) Support our current ministries through giving and volunteering.
(2) Begin local missions as each Sunday School class does two local mission projects this year.
(3) A regional mission trip to the Rio Grande Valley this summer and an international mission trip to Guatemala next winter.
(4) Grow our assimilation ministry by starting a welcome center, morning worship counseling, greater outreach to our visitors, and new small groups focusing on the life of Jesus.
(5) One-to-one ministry, encouraging each of us to focus on one person to invite to church and one person with which to share God's love during 2008.
